William J. Potter

President, Ridgewood Capital Funding, Inc. (NASD) and Ridgewood Group International Ltd. Prior to establishing Ridgewood Group in 1989, Mr. Potter was Managing Director for International Investment Banking at Prudential Securities Inc. Prior experience includes several years at a senior level at Barclays Bank PLC and Toronto Dominion Bank and with White Weld & Co., Inc. Mr. Potter, a Canadian national, graduated from Colgate University (A.B.) and the Harvard Business School (M.B.A.). He currently serves as Finance Committee Chairman and a Director of the National Foreign Trade Council (Washington, DC) and is a partner of Sphere Capital Partners. He is also a director of Impulsora del Fondo Mexico, S.A. de CV, First Australia Fund, First Australia Prime Income Fund Inc., First Australia Prime Income Investment Company Limited (Canada), First Commonwealth fund, Alexandria Bancorp and a number of publicly listed companies listed in the U.S. and Canada. He has served as an international advisor to Ladenburg Thalman International Ltd. and serves as consultant to Guardian Capital Group, Ltd. and to a number of emerging companies and resource projects and educational foundations. Mr. Potter is listed in the Marquis edition of Who’s Who in America and ancillary publications.

 

S. David Cooperberg

Mr. Cooperberg previously was Vice President, Finance of Paloma Partners, a $1.8 billion equity private investment partnership, comprising the largest global network of market-neutral funds. He had responsibility for securities lending and borrowing operations, financing, liability management, and counterparty relationships. Previously, he was Senior Manager, Corporate Finance for The Royal Bank of Canada, where he set up the group which had primary responsibility throughout the USA for all project financing and merger & acquisition business, comprising both debt and equity transactions. Mr. Cooperberg, who is a Canadian national, received an A.B. in English with honours from Dartmouth College and an M.B.A. in international business and finance from the University of Chicago. He also holds a Licence en science economiques appliques from Universite de Louvain, Belgium. He has published numerous articles in American Banker, Banking Law Review, and Executive Business. He has taught courses in International Finance, Introduction to International Business, and International Business Development.

Michel L. Morin

Mr. Morin advises emerging growth companies, matching their technical, financial and commercial needs with the strategic requirements of major international companies. He has been engaged in corporate development activities for over twenty years, in both senior management positions and in advisory roles with a merchant banking group. Previously in management positions and in advisory roles with a merchant banking group. Previously, Mr. Morin was Director of Corporate Development for Parsons & Whittemore, Inc., a diversified multinational group whose principal focus is in the pulp and paper industry. He has been active in cross-border acquisitions, as well as a domestic high-technology investment partnership. Mr. Morin also has served as President and CEO of an R&D portfolio company, monitored a European product development alliance, and negotiated technology transfer transactions. During the previous 15 years of his career, with the US arm of Messrs. Worms et Cie, a French Merchant Banking Group, then as head of a New York based management consulting joining venture with Bossard Consultant of France. Mr. Morin assisted a broad range of overseas companies seeking US market entry, technology transfer opportunities and alliances. A French national with 20 years of residency in the U.S., Mr. Morin holds a graduate degree of Aeronautical Engineering, attended the Institut d’Administration des Entreprises and earned a Master of Science degree from M.I.T.

 

John T. Sheehy

Mr. Sheehy is presently based in Seattle and is actively involved in U.S. West Coast and Pacific Rim transactions. He is a 15 year veteran of Bear Sterns & Co., Inc., where he was Managing Director. He initially was a generalist in Corporate Finance and was head of the Mergers and Acquisitions group from 1980-1982. Previously, Mr. Sheehy trained as a credit analyst at Morgan Guaranty Trust Company of New York, where he spent four years in the Corporate Finance department. He resigned from Bear Stearns in March 1987 to raise two MBO/LBO funds controlled by Sphere Capital Partners (the "Fulcrum" funds), of which he is a director. Mr. Sheehy has a B.A. degree from the University of Pennsylvania, an MA from New York University, and an M.B.A. from Columbia University. Mr. Sheehy is a director of a number of companies including First Australia Fund, First Australia Prime Income Fund, Inc., First Australia Prime Income Investment Company Limited, Sandy Corp., and First Commonwealth Fund.

In addition, Ridgewood has affiliate representation in Paris, Switzerland, Canada, Bombay, as well as Perth and Sydney, Australia.
